A large pair of famille rose baluster vases with flaring necks and short feet and moulded elephant mask and ring handles, each painted and gilt with a continuous scene depicting a peacock and peahen perched on rockwork flanked by two egrets amongst peonies and irises, further birds in flight and perched among leafy branches above Mandarin ducks swimming in a pond, the necks and feet with entwined pomegranates, bats, lotus flowers and foliage on yellow grounds, the rims and shoulders with ruyi heads -- 24¼in. (61.5cms) high, iron red Qianlong seal marks, Daoguang, (small chip to ring of one handle).
