carved with figural cartouches containing calligraphy, the reverse with further panels of calligraphy -- 10½.in (26.7cm) wide, 16th/17th Century, (old wear); and an inlaid wood tapering measuring pole decorated with characters and dotted motifs -- 55.in (139.7cm) long.
