A rare Steiff 'Galop-Molly'
Molly the dog with dual plush mohair, brown and black glass eyes, black stitched nose and mouth and button in ear with remains of red label; the cat with silver tipped grey mohair, green and black glass eyes, pink stitched nose and button in ear, both standing on four red painted wooden wheels joined by metal frame --7in. (18cm.) long, circa 1926 (scuff marks to wheels and metal frame)

Lot Essay

These 'Galop-Toys' were introduced in 1926 to the Steiff range of pull-along toys. 'Galop-Toys'' were so called due to the carriages fitted with eccentric wheels creating a galloping movement performed when the toy is pulled along.
