Autograph journal of his voyage from Marseille to Alexandria, 12 pages, folio, covering a three day period 17-19 December, 1858; and autograph notebook, inscribed "Egypt no I" on upper cover, first entry dated Nov. 7 [18]58, slim 8vo, 26 pages plus blanks, containing lists of books, instruments and a wide range of supplies to be obtained from Alexandria or Cairo, also meteorological reports, other statistical information, and pencil sketches of hill contours, cabins on ferry, ferry machinery etc., original buff wrappers.
