Inviting Gibbons to play the viola, rather than the violin, in the Bach Concerto, part of the programme for a Concert on 6th January 1910. "I am unable to propose a fee commensurate with your talents, but I have pleasure in proposing that you should receive as a recompense for your trouble ... the sum of half a guinea."
