Victoria won by an innings and 656 runs. As the scorecard commemorates, W. H. Ponsford made 352 in 363 minutes, J. Ryder 295 in 245 minutes, and H. L. Hendry 100 in 117 minutes. W. M. Woodfull (Capt.) couldn't quite keep up with this pace, taking 223 minutes to make 133. The first wicket fell at 375, the second at 594. The most heavily used of New South Wales' eight bowlers in this famous match was Mailey who took 4 for 362 off 512 balls.
