A pair of Chinese panels
painted in ink and colour on silk in the style of Wen Zhenming, one depicting a group of scholars and a lady carrying peach sprays, lotus leaves and a staff before a waterfall in a landscape of blossoming trees, pine and rockwork with recumbent deer and a phoenix in flight carrying a string of beads in its beak; the other with groups of figures at leisure before a pavilion set amongst rockwork, pine and cloud scrolls, variously in conversation, carrying bowls of fruit, baskets of flowers and playing instruments, a bird in flight above -- 60¼in. x 15¾in. (153cm x 40cm), framed. (2)
