A carved wood standing cup, probably Tyrolean or Swiss, mid 19th century
painted white with traces of gilding, the ovoid body carved around the rim with heads of deer above a frieze depicting a hunting scene, on a stiff leaf clasped socle and naturalistically carved circular base -- 8in. (20.2cm) high; and another similar standing cup -- 7½in. (19cm) high
