The stepped block case with lanceolate leaf cast galleries and surmounted by a figure of kneeling Cupid sharpening an arrow, his bow and quiver beside him to the naturalistic base, the front feet cast in relief with anthemions and arrows, the gilt chapter ring with black painted Roman numerals (some rubbing) and signed J.B. MARCHAND RUE RICHELIEU No.59, with engine-turned centre and within a flowerhead cast bezel, gilt moon hands, the twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell
