An Italian early 16th Century partly gilded cassetta frame, the taenia at outer edge with black ground; cavetto; the central plate with head at top centre flanked by foliage and flowers; the sides with caryatides, eagles and cherubs; the bottom section with a head, flowers and foliage; astragal moulding at sight edge; possibly Venetian - 10 x 8¼ x 2¾ in. (25.4 x 21 x 7 cm.)
