the outer and inner edges carved as interlocking naturalistic branches, the ground with oil painted swathe of ivy, iris and brambles, glazed with mezzotint of a painting by Sir Joshua Reynolds, the print with pencil inscription to the reverse: This frame was painted H R H the Cron Princes of Germany & Princess Royal & given by her to Mrs Wakelin -- 23 x 25 7/8in.
