painted in sumi, colour, gofun and gilt on silk depicting the Death of Buddha with Buddha lying on a stone slab surrounded by mourning priests, acolytes and numerous animals including an elephant, a tiger, a horse, a boar, a kylin and further birds and animals, all surrounded by trees with further mourning acolytes standing on cloud scrolls above -- 56¾in. (144cm.) x 31.5cm. (80cm.), (some soiling and old wear, mount damaged.)
