A Raqqa turquoise glazed conical bowl painted in black to the interior with a central roundel of two cranes in flight within a border of stylised flowers and leaves, the thick glaze around the exterior falling short of the foot to reveal the buff pottery -- 7¼in. (18.5cm.) diam, 14th Century.
