This realistic bear was the creation of Sylvia R. Wilgoss, chief designer for Dean's from the 1950s. The bear was created after extensive studies of real 'Grizzly' bears.

with black mohair, brown and black glass eyes cut into internal rubber face mask with rubber eye sockets, large ears set wide apart, white plush cut muzzle, black moulded rubber nose, unjointed, stuffed with wood-wool, pink rubber feet pads, paws and claws and label stitched to right side seam --22in. (56cm.) tall, circa 1950
