The Artificers' Guild was founded in 1901 by Nelson Dawson (1859-1942) in Chiswick in London and was taken over two years later by Montague Fordham, erstwhile director of the Birmingham Guild of Handicraft. Refer "Jewellery" by Diana Scarisbrick et al.
