A British Naval Cutter hoisting Sail off Barcelona

Thomas Buttersworth was a Midshipman in the Royal Navy and was stationed in Spain in 1800, so this picture was almost certainly executed at that time. It was presented to a Spanish Admiral and remained in his family until it was acquired by the present owner.
