A Napoleon III gilt-bronze and porcelain mounted striking mantel clock and garniture, third quarter 19th century
The arched case with dolphin mounts to the imbricated top, surmounted by an urn finial, with porcelain panel to the front painted with a scene of two lovers in 18th century costume, the side panels with mounts cast as various instruments issuing from a basket, with stiff leaf mounts below, on toupie feet, the porcelain dial with Roman chapters within cartouches with gilt borders, floral painted centre, the twin barrel movement with strike on bell -- 17¾in. (45cm.) high; and the pair of side urns en suite -- 15¼in. (38.5cm.) high; each with giltwood stand
