Three mounted tintype cartes-de-visite, thirty-two albumen prints, the majority half-stereo format, one signed Notman and numbered in the negative, sixty-eight late 19th century topographical etchings, each approx. 3 x 5 in., the latter with printed titles in margins, others titled in ink on mounts, and one pencil and blue wash sketch heightened with white, titled 'Granite Crags of California, Yosemite Valley' and signed C.F. Gordon Cumming in margin, original cloth, titled Scrap Album on front cover, 4to.

Lot Essay

A pencil note under one tintype group portrait of four men at Saratoga states Pierre [?L]ouillard, owner afterwards of "Iroquois" winner of Derby - Bob Stuyvesant - Col. [?Fanish]. Another of an African American is titled "Thomas" my servant. Other photographs include the St. Lawrence river, a portrait of a river pilot by Notman, Niagara, Salt Lake City, a group titled John Chinaman on the railroad, a group of Sioux Indians and other views along the Canadian Pacific Railroad, the Union Pacific Railway and around Ogden.
