A GRAECO-ROMAN MARBLE HEAD OF DIONYSOS
CIRCA 1ST CENTURY B.C./A.D.
The youthful god with hair parted in the centre, wearing an ivy-wreath, with full lips and unarticulated eyes, flat at the back, mounted, 4¼ in. (10.8 cm.) high; and two Greek marble female heads, each with hair dressed in a chignon, one wearing a stephane with ears pierced for attachable earrings (now missing), circa 3rd Century B.C., 2 in. (5.1 cm.) and 1 7/8 in. (4.7 cm.) high respectively (3)
