A Japanese ivory rectangular koro and cover
on four tapering feet, with recumbent shishi finial and similar handles, carved with panels of ho-o in flight interspersed with panels of mythical animals among flowers on a ground of flowerheads, the feet carved with coiled dragons among clouds, the eyes inlaid in mother-of-pearl -- 6¾.in (17.2cm) high, signed on a red lacquer tablet.
