The following four lots, Ambrose, James, Uncle Morris and Tumbalina all appeared in 'A Hug of Bears', written and illustrated by Paul Adshead. Each bear will be sold with a signed copy of the book.

"My first few books had mostly been about real animals. I had no shortage of inspiration. However, one day I passed by an antique shop and spotted a small bear in the window. At once I felt certain I knew his name and all about him. I was fascinated by him. He seemed the perfect character for a children's book. Soon he was joined by other distinguished old bears who also seemed to have a story to tell.
I have always thought that bears should be enjoyed. There is no point in having a delightful old bear, if all it ever does is stay wrapped up and hidden in a cupboard for safe keeping. With this in mind I decided to let a certain few look for new homes where they can hopefully have more fun, get out and about and meet other bears, and bring enjoyment into someone else's life too."
