A French spelter striking bust clock, last quarter 19th century
the case in the form of a female bust wearing a winged crown and modelled with chains of coins, on waisted square section integral socle, inset with brass dial applied with enamel Roman cartouche chapters, the twin barrel movement with strike on bell (lacking), stamped HP & CO, case re-patinated -- 24¼in. (61.5cm.) high; on associated tapering cylindrical ceramic pedestal raised in relief with foliate motifs, with conforming later decoration -- 36½in. (92.5cm.) high
