Carved with the Immortal standing on a rockwork platform, laughing with eyes half-closed and mouth wide open and holding with both hands a large peach, wearing a loose-fitting robe open at the chest, incised with shou characters, peach sprigs, cloud scrolls and lotus meander borders, the incised details gilt, the stone of beige colour with traces of pigment remaining to the surface, the rockwork platform lacquered--13 1/4in. (33.7cm.) high overall
