A RARE MOULDED GOURD BOWL
QIANLONG MARK AND OF THE PERIOD
From a two-piece mould, with well-rounded sides decorated around the exterior with a frieze of five rings entwined with foliate scrolls, between keyfret bands around the slightly lipped rim and the base, the underside with a four-character mark, Qianlong Shangwan, 'for the appreciation and pleasure of Emperor Qianlong', encircled by the naturally formed footrim, the interior applied with gilt lacquer (age cracks)
