Of flattened rounded shape, carved through the overlays in high relief on each side with a phoenix standing on rockwork near a tall peony spray with a butterfly nearby, the flowerhead and butterfly cut from the red overlay, the foliage and phoenix from the green, the rockwork cut from the blue glass and extending to form the oval foot ring, an unusual layer of red and white glass under the green of the phoenix is used to great effect to form a shadow behind, all on a swirling white glass ground
