Brown: A superb strike cancelling letter sheet (stereo unclear) used locally in Gateshead, the reverse showing very fine strike of the black "GATESHEAD" double-arc datestamp for 23 October 1840, the interior of the letter sheet with "GEORGE WATSON, OLD AND NEW BOOKSELLER, BOTTLE BANK, GATESHEAD" advertisement (last line beginning "A fine-toned Organ") printed in black; very fine and clean.
