1604 (11 Sept.) a beautiful vellum Letter of State from Prince Henry of Wales (1594-1612, James I's eldest son and heir) to the Russian Prince Feodor (son and heir to the Russian Tsar), addressed "To The High, & Mighty Prince Pheodor Boriswich, Sonne & heire apparent of the High and Mighty Emperour Boris Phedorowich, great Duke of all Russia, Voldomer, Mosko, Nouogorod, King of Cazan, King of Astracan, King of Syberia, great Lord of the North coasts, and Ruler ouer many other Kingdomes, and Dominions, or Deare and Wellbeloued Cozen", highlighted in gold, the interior with ornate decorative top panel and large decorated "H" beginning "Henry By The Grace of God, Prince of Great", the letter enjoins the Russian Prince to afford assistance to James Cocks in trading throughout the Emperor's dominions in search or various goods, most especially "white hawkes, or hawkes of any sorte"; an important and visually stunning item.
