Designed as a cloisonné green, blue and red enamel cruciform with rose-cut diamond trim and old European-cut centre to the cultured pearl terminals, circa 1880, with French assay marks (cultured pearls of later addition), in a Boucheron blue velvet fitted case

Lot Essay

Charles Riffault produced a series of cloisonné enamel medieval-inspired jewels for Boucheron from 1860-90. The present cruciform is almost identical to one he produced in 1870-80 which was donated circa 1890 to the Victoria and Albert Museum.
