A blanc-de-Chine figure of Wen Chang
17th Century, He Chaozong seal mark
Seated with crossed ankles on rockwork, wearing a long tunic with studded belt and scholar's cap with two ribbons falling over his shoulders, the finely carved face with downcast expression, pierced with apertures for face hairs on the chin, upper lip and sideburns (fingers and sceptre chipped, glaze frittings, minute cracks to the ribbons of the cap)
