Le Jardin Fruitier du Muséum ou iconographie de toutes les espèces et variétés d'arbres fruitiers. Paris: Firmin Didot frères, [1858-]1862-1875. 9 volumes, small 2° (314 x 224mm). Half-titles. 508 plates, all but 12 coloured and finished by hand, a few double-page, after Alfred Riocreux, most with tissue-guards. (Occasional light spotting and browning.) Contemporary green morocco-backed boards, spines gilt, uncut, some leaves unopened (spines re-stained).

A FINE POMOLOGICAL WORK ILLUSTRATED BY THE "MOST SENSITIVE AND SKILFUL FRENCH BOTANICAL ARTIST OF THE PERIOD" (Blunt). This is one of the great pomologies and the author, a Belgian attached to the Natural History Museum in Paris, sets out to describe all the species and varieties of fruit growing in the museum's garden.
