Surmounted by a seated female writing in a book and blowing a horn, atop a foliate-pierced dome, the shaped case with circular blue and white enamel dial, with Roman numerals and Arabic minute divisions, indistinctly signed, with French twin-train movement with countwheel striking on a bell, surmounted by an Imperial eagle, flanked to each side by trailing flowers, with a coat-of-arms below and to one side a maiden and to the other a Roman centurion, with foliate-pierced sides mounted to the left with a pair of putti holding an orb and to the right with a wreath-bearing maiden seated on flowing crimson and gilt drapery, on a shaped rectangular stand decorated with insects and to the front with a vignette depicting a courting couple, on flower-encrusted scrolled feet, with underglaze blue crossed swords mark
