Targa Florio 1928; An excellent photograph and scrap album providing a complete coverage of her most famous event, where after leading early in the race, and swapping places with the leaders, she was robbed of what would have been a most famous victory by a water-pump failure - finally completing the course in 5th place. A wonderful record of this supreme racing challenge.

Lot Essay

Having raced in Sicily in 1927, she made determined preparation for the 1928 race - touring the course before the event, taking photos of each significant section, even picking and pressing wild flowers, contained herein, together with St. Christopher good luck cards, etc.
