The faceted trefoil-shaped base painted at the interior with a peony spray, the everted rim with a floral cell-pattern band, the centre supporting a detachable silver entwined-loop handle attached to three rings, two baluster vases and a double-gourd vase with moulded lotus petals to the sides enclosing figures and flower-sprays, each mounted with silver rims and covers, two mounted with silver bands at the foot, the base standing on three scroll feet, frits and a chip

Lot Essay

The silver mounts bear Dutch maker's marks, possibly for Simonis J.A.H. Gravenhage (1817-1833).
