Each painted to the sides with a continuous riverscape enlivened with boats and figures, multi-tiered pavilions, arched bridges, rugged cliffs and gnarled leafy trees, the flat shoulders and covers similarly decorated, one body and both covers with some restoration

Lot Essay

A pair of blue and white tea jars and covers of similar date, similar size and with similar decoration, but of cylindrical shape, was sold in these Rooms, 2 November 1992, lot 112.
