A DOUCAI 'DEER' SAUCER-DISH
yongzheng six-character mark and of the period
Painted and enamelled at the centre with a deer in a garden setting beneath a pair of bats in flight and swirling clouds, the rim decorated with a band enclosing insects and a bird in flight amidst flowering branches issuing from rockwork and a monkey seated on a gnarled fruiting branch, the exterior with three ruyi sprays, hairline
6¼ in. (15.5 cm.) diam.
