Lot Essay

The porcelain at Drayton House, Northamptonshire is listed in an inventory drawn up on 14 September 1710, where the "cornice" of the State Bedroom was garnished with "Two little blue and white rollwagons, two china bottles...". The collection was formed by Sir John and Lady Betty Germain.
