Lot Essay

Thomas Powell, of Nant-Eos, near Aberystwyth, was the only son of Rev. William Powell (1705-1780), by Elizabeth, eldest daughter and co-heir of Athelstan Owen, of Rhiwsasson, Montgomery. He married Elinor, eldest daughter of Edward Maurice Corbet, of Ynys-y-maengwyn, by whom he had three sons and two daughters. On his death in April 1797, he was succeeded by his eldest son, William Edward Powell.
