Lot Essay

Rebecca came to England in 1761 after studying in Rome with Benjamin West and the portraitist George James. He worked on decorative schemes for Robert Adam, James and Samuel Wyatt and James Holland. Examples of his work can be found at Harewood, Kedleston and Kenwood.
