The serpentine moulded quarter-veneered top inlaid with a narrow band above a bombé front and sides with four graduated long drawers and on later elm bun feet, the back feet replaced in oak

Lot Essay

A closely related commode on high bracket feet is at Verwolde, Holland, and is illustrated in J. Guillermo, Dutch Houses and Castles, New York, 1990, p. 69. Another related commode was sold anonymously, Christie's Amsterdam, 29 June 1989, lot 345.
