The rectangular moulded top above a part-fitted long drawer and on canted square legs, the interior of the drawer inscribed in ink '20', scored out and replaced with the letter 'D', the lock replaced

Supplied to the 5th Duke of Bolton (d.1765) for Hackwood.
By descent until sold in 1935 with Hackwood to William Berry, 1st Viscount Camrose (d.1954).

In the 1905 inventory the tables of this model are identifiable in various bedrooms as as: 'A 3ft. Old English Mahogany Writing Table fitted drawer with compartments 2 brass handles on square legs'.
