Collation: A-E8 F4 (A1r title and woodcut, A1v verses by Angelus Fonticulanus, A2r author's dedication to Alfonso Piccolomini, A3r verses by Pico, A3v text, F3v verses to the reader, colophon, F4 blank). 43 (of 44, without final blank) leaves, bifolia A3.6 and 4.5 reversed in binding. Roman type, the title in gothic type. Title woodcut of a scholar and a woman, historiated and ornamental initials from several sets. (Some small staining at edge, small marginal tears in a few leaves.) Later vellum (worn at edges).
A rare edition of Blasius Pico's Latin grammar, which was first published at Aquila in 1494. That edition is known in only 3 copies (cf. IGI 7729) and the present edition is known in only one other, at the Biblioteca Ambrosiana at Milan. The woodcut was previously used by the same printer in another grammatical work, by Sulpitius Verulanus, in 1516. Essling II, 1979; Sander 5678.
