Engraved frontispiece and 20 plates by Lodovico Mattioli, folding engraved and letterpress table, elaborate engraved printer's device on title (a wolf in the foreground, Bologna in the background), oval portrait vignette of the author, 16 tailpieces. (Some slight spotting.) 18th-century French red morocco gilt, gilt edges (joints a little scuffed, foot of spine slightly chipped). Provenance: C.G. Ognora Desto (bookplate); W.R.H.
