The rectangular plate within a foliate-carved slip and eared egg-and-dart moulding, the scrolled broken pediment with a plinth above an applied rocaille cartouche, the apron with brass candle-branches above a conforming cartouche and scrolled apron, the backboards replaced, originally with a further cresting, formally with a blackened surface now visible beneath the cartouches, possibly Irish
