Lot Essay

This picture formed part of a series by John Wootton which originally hung at Langley Park. This included a View of the Battle of Blenheim, and a picture of Brisk which may be a pendant to the present work (both sold in these Rooms, 21 November 1975, lots 22 and 23, sold 10,000 guineas and 3,500 guineas respectively).
