Lot Essay

Tuke made a diary entry on 30 April 1925, 'Met Stanley Towsey at Liverpool Street [Station] and [we] took the 10.05 to Cambridge. Met by Donald [Rolph], we repaired to the Fitzwilliam [Museum] and found [Sydney] Cockerell [the curator]. Then strolled about Trinity etc. and lunched at Donald's rooms in Green Street. Wilfred Ellis, Chaplain of Trinity coming in ... Back to Trinity and had tea with Ellis and he decided to buy my watercolour 'Holiday'. Townsey and I left at 7.07 and dined in the train'.
