Wanli Six-Character Mark Edo Period (late 17th century)
Decorated in iron red, green and aubergine enamels and gilt on underglaze blue, the inside with a peony blossom and foliage within a roundel bordered by branches of pomegranate and peony, the rim with a band of scrolling foliage alternated with clouds, the reverse with four shaped panels with Chinese court figures within a roundel on a geometric patterned ground, the foot rim with a band of lappets, rim chips
