Map of the bay of Pozzuoli printed from two engraved copperplates on two full Royal sheet, overall 432 x 575mm. Title, key, scalebar and epigram by Julius Roscius Hortinus set in an elaborate rectangular strapwork cartouche, dedication in oval strapwork cartouche surmounted by the arms of the Duke of Ossuna, compass rose. (Trimmed to image, edges partly reinforced on the verso.)

A very fine rare map of the bay of Pozzuoli from Capo Miseno to Nisida, including the lakes Averno and Aniano and the celebrated sulphur springs. Not in Tooley; Watermark similar to Woodward 114.
