Lot Essay

Ossessione (1942) was one of the first films to start the cycle of Italian 'neo-realism'. It was also the first screen adaptation of James M.Cains' novel The Postman Always Rings Twice. This was the first time a standard 55x39in. Italian poster was issued for this film. The initial release only had smaller posters due to a paper shortage in Italy during the war.
