painted to the exterior with a confronting dragon and phoenix chasing a flaming pearl amongst cloud scrolls and above foaming waves -- 8in. (20.4cm.) diam, underglaze blue Guangxu six-character mark and of the period; and three further dishes similarly decorated -- 8in. (20.4cm.) diam, six-character marks, made in the 20th year of the Republic, 1931. (4)
