A large Cantonese baluster vase
with flaring neck and pierced foliate handles, painted and gilt with dignitaries, ladies, boys and attendants on a terrace variously carrying fans, scrolls, flowers, gourds and precious objects, the reverse with further figures eating and drinking at a rockwork table, a two ladies with a boy on a waterbuffalo amongst foaming waves before them, the neck with groups of Immortals reading scrolls -- 33½in. (85cm.) high, (body cracked, handles broken.)
